The message yesterday morning dealt with giving the holy Spirit freedom in our worship services. In Rev. 3:18, Jesus says, “I counsel you to buy from me . . . salve/medicine to put on your eyes, so you can see." In v. 17 God says this church is “poor,” so how are they supposed to “buy” anything from him? We buy from him with our faith, our presence, and our time. Jesus is telling us that our eyes don’t just need opened, they need healed! Before anyone else can be healed through our church, healing first starts with us, and it starts with having spiritual eyes to see spiritual things. Jeremiah 8:22, “Is there no balm/medicine in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why is there no healing for the wound of my people?” There have been seasons in the history of Israel and with God’s people when there was no healing, but God has made clear to us that the windows of Heaven are now open for our healing! “Buy medicine for your eyes…” Jesus is telling us, I’ll heal your eyes & open them to visions, your mind to dreams, your lives to signs and wonders… You’ll see a spiritual dimension to things! If the Holy Spirit is going to have freedom in our services, it won’t happen unless we have Spiritual eyes to see what he’s doing. Will you join me in inviting Jesus to heal our spiritual eyes? At the end of yesterday's service, Lois stood up and spoke to the church. She did a survey of pastors and what they felt this area needed. Most of them pointed to Jeremiah 8:22: "Is there no balm/medicine in Gilead?" Thank you, Lord, for this confirmation.
